Welcome & About

Welcome to Song Land, where your host, Jesse, improvises a set of songs and shares them with the world each week.

It’s a podcast that experiments with the first draft of a song, not the final version of a song.

More about Jesse Stuart Watkins

Jesse Watkins sings backup vocals on an Audioslave cover in 2018. In shorts. Shorts were a bad choice.

Jesse Stuart Watkins has made up songs since he was a child. Song Land is the combined practice of making music, improvising, and hosting a radio show, all three of which Jesse loves.

In another dimension, Jesse is studying longform improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre and hosting interviews in the style of Terry Gross or Krista Tippett (Jesse has a certification in group dialogue facilitation, where he also won the award for super nerd). He would still make up songs as he does now. These influences come together in Song Land to create a meaningful and potent experience.
